Samsung Wins, Apple loses – Sale of Galaxy Tab 10.1 to start officially in Australia
After the long battle over patent infringement lawsuit the roads are clear for Samsung in Australia, South Korean giant got success over Apple in Australia. The Australian High Court has also agreed with the Federal Court decision and lifted the ban on sale of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Australia.
This is the second defeat of Apple followed by the German ruling which was in favor of Motorola Mobility. This ruling applies only to the preliminary injunction, while Apple’s claim whether Samsung has infringed its patents or not won’t be heard until sometime in mid-2012.
Last week Apple Inc. filed an appeal with the High Court against Federal Court’s decision that reversed the last month ruling that Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet be banned from sale in Australia. At that time apple managed to get temporarily extended ban on sales of Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet from High Court till today.
With this victory Samsung can now officially start selling Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Australia. Its the time for Samsung to grab Australian tablet markets in coming holidays.
Galaxy Tab 10.1 is expected to hit stores early next week.
